Handmade Paper - A natural way of making MONEY
Eco-friendly Paper - It's not only unique in comparison to its peers but also among its own category
How Handmade Paper Is manufactured
After selecting the appropriate fiber, it is refined by chopping and maceration and, when appropriate, colored with pigments which guarantee imperviousness to light. There is a traditional system with frame and counter-frame and a metal screen. The frame is immersed in the tank which contains the dyed fiber pulp and the proper amount of water to produce a paper of a given weight. Once drained of excess water, the frame is immersed in another tank with another color. This process continues until the desired effect is achieved, and then the resulting mass is pressed to create a sheet of paper. The moisture usually varies from 50-65% Special techniques and tools permit handmade paper makers to achieve lines of colored pulp in their papers, either free form or precisely calculated in given widths, as well as areas of color, color fusions, changes of thickness, texture, etc. All of these variations permit the creation of unique works in any medium.

Indian Handmade paper industry has witnessed a robust growth in recent years and is predicted to maintain this pace. The exports have crossed INR .1.5 billion mark by 2007 end, from a modest INR 350 million in 2001- 2002. In the year 2001-02 Indian Handmade Paper was exported to 73 countries. The total export was 10170.211 metric tons having a value of Rs.350 million. Although the quantum of production is low,Today there are about 157 handmade paper units in India and the export is expected to cross the 1.5 billion mark by the end of 2007.
Government Initiatives
Handmade Paper Industry offers five times more employment than the modern paper making units. Moreover it can be opened with little investment and can be a large source of employment in villages. In order to tap its enormous growth potential government has authorized agencies like Khadi and Village Industries Commission (Ministry of Agro and Rural Industries, Government of India) to encourage handmade paper making in India.

Shame for Democracy - Issueless Elections
Election ...the so called biggest festive occasion of Democracy has almost become an affair, which seeks very little interest of common men.
It would have been a ideal situation if the government would have been carrying out its responsibility in the best manner and the rule could be termed as "Ram Rajya". Alas the country is no where near it but still I don't understand why things are like this. Talking about Maharashtra, please don't get bluffed by the statistical figure of 60% voting in the state. The real question is whom they are voting for? On one hand the people in Vidharva region are living in a situation where every farmer is at the verge of committing suicide and on the other MLA's have enhanced their asset by over 1000 times since 2004 election. Still, is anybody raising this issue, are there enough voices to change the system, are there candidates who have brought these things to their election manifesto. The scene is that at Cong-NCP is almost sure of wining the elections, not because it has done anything to enhance the life of common mass in the state but because they have propagated the rise of MNS which by bringing shameless and useless issues will only make Shiv Sena-BJP alliance weaker. People seems to be in a situation where they have no option. So, why not people are not rising to the occasion and bringing their own candidates who can really work by atleast trying to make their life a bit better.
Same scenario is in Haryana, The incumbent CM is sure of winning the elections, when places like Gurgaon,which i think if not highest than atleast is next to highest contributor to the government income tax revenue, lacks basic amenities like road, electricity and not to mention the public transport system. The major reason for such confidence is the opposition of INLD, which has amassed huge chunk of money from public treasury to its private houses.
Moral: Why take pain of working for people, you simply have to show/keep better placed than the opposition and u win.
But we don't feel like going to my hometown to cast my franchisee ....Do I have a right to ask this question to others?

J&K Drama
Can we go a bit back in 80's....India had a home minister called Mufti Mohammed Sayeed under the V P Singh government in 1989 and her daughter Rubaiya sayeed was kidnapped by terrorists ....The terror outfit wanted release of 5 of their men and delhi buckled down to the demands of the terrorist....Though Farooque Abdullah then CM of Jammu and Kashmir never wanted to do that ...as he could foresee the opening of flood gate by such pusillanimous act of central government.....our honorable home minister disappeared from the political scene and suddenly in 2002 we heard that he is sworn as the CM of the coalition government in J&K ...using the political wave created by her daughter Mehbooba Mufti ...the lady who always know that people are not going to vote for the guy who has shown a act of cowardice ....I would not say that it is bad to save your family...but the situation could have been hadled properly, because if terrorist knew that doing any harm to a unmarried kashmiri lady would have roused sentiments against them and would have never taken any such step .....
PDP party ruled J&K for three years and then came the turn of Mr ghulam Nabi Azad to be sworn as CM ....PDP never behaved like a coalition partner in government and more like a bad and modern age opponent in and out of state assembly. But this was not the end and on eve of J&K 2008 state elections...the reaction of PDP leader was almost same as that of Sushma Swaraj after the BJP's political debacle after 2004 election.
The recent meneavour shown by the lady against the honourable speaker in the assembly asks a very smart and tacit question ....on whom to have faith that J&K will change its fate ...if not the youth leaders? Omar Abdullah the young CM ...atleast is trying to bring some justice to this state ..

happiest days of 2009 ...till date
It was 9th jan 2009 ....CAT result came with another surprise ....I got call from IIM Shillong. Initially it seemed that every other fellow might have received it , however, i cam to know later on that it was only the chose n few ...most of them haven't received any call.
It took some day to decide that I should at least give it a try and that too with brute force.
Started my happiest day when I met Mr Malay. His classes were awesome ...as it was so knowledgeable and really true and honest knowledge transfer excercise. The level of mentorship was simply the best. The hitting on our moral and ethical value always pushed me to bring the best out of me . It really forced me to think a lot about what I really want to achieve in life.
I couldn't made it to IIM Shillong but those were the happiest days of 2009 (till date)......
It took some day to decide that I should at least give it a try and that too with brute force.

Change is even visible
Bihar has sent 21 new faces to the Indian parliament. The number of new faces are even more than the old faces coming to the parliament. All the politicians with criminal record were either stopped by EC or by the people of the state. They have not even allowed the pseudo representation of these goons as they have not even allowed their wives or any other relative to win the election.
People want to have new saviors who can work for them and for that they are even ready to elect someone with only primary education in comparison to someone who is Engineer by qualification. The people see trust and long term vision in Nitish Kumar's government.
The country has elected 226 MPs who are less than 50 yrs of age.

Thumping Majority for Congress in centre and JDU in Bihar
A win win situation for people of Bihar, who had suffered a lot from the gundaraj which prevailed in the state not too long back. With nation led by Manmohan Singh and state led by Nitish Kumar, people of Bihar has all the reasons to smile.
A state which has never preached nation of sub-nationalism and always believed in the quote,"It is not I which is important, it is we which is more important". So, people may argue that Bihar will not get enough share from country's development, if center and state government belongs to two different parties;however, the situation would have been worse if BJP led saffron alliance would have come to power. People of Bihar will get all the more reasons to smile because not only JDU but even Congress and RJD will think of doing something for the downtrodden and poor rather than simply enjoying the power with guns.
The state which may seems to be in the worst scenario is silently making a huge investment and it let 2020 come, the state will come out with lot of surprises to all those fellow countrymen who still symbolises Biharis with laloo and the poor daily wage earners.The state where each household is almost investing 50% of its earning on education of their children is sitting on the volcano of revolution. A state which produce maximum number of IAS officers, IITians and most of the toppers in different colleges and central universities may not be a force to recon with in the current scenario but you can't neglect it for long.The next generation which is currently pursuing higher studies in different part off country as well as abroad, are giving serious thought to the revival of their own homeland but their ideology is different from people supporting MNS.The intellectual N-X does not want to see Bihar as a developed state at the cost of other states, rather want to see bihar as a developed state along with other states.
Hope with fresh mandate both at center and state leaders will not neglect the aspirations of people from Bihar and even if they do its not very far because the youth may not be in position to tolerate the regime of no development for long.

My Shillong Interview
CASE/GD :
Topic: A village was left by farmers staying there because there was lack of resources there, some of the herders are using that land and some of their families are currently staying there. Now suddenly the village got irrigation facility through canal. Everyone is claiming rights on the land and nobody is in position to claim it legally. Government appoints village council as arbiter, however, there is a general perception that village council will favour people from outside for land distribution. What should the herders do?

Time: 5 min to understand, 15 to discuss and 5 to summarise
Brief Snapshot of Discussion: I started the discussion (Actually that killed me initially in interview). Al most everyone has hardly more than 2 points to say …however they discussed continued for 15 minutes. I brought some points related to sustainable economic development (got a question on that)

I came up with number of schools, colleges, offices and their data …..P1 was not satisfied….I told I can gather data from MHRD ….P1 still unsatisfied (even said you started with demand and now you are talking about school and all) ….I said Sir , there can be many ways to find demand as these parameters are indicator for the same.

I was literally asked and I had almost made all relevant equations, constraints with all assumptions ….god only when I said Simplex method …he was happy and became quiet. In between he was also asking is this the correct way to make profit maximization function…just to kill me
P2: Have you taken any coaching for GD and interview, because of the way you took first chance to speak
I said No …but GD is not a new phenomenon for me …as I had done that in School college and during placement….You will not believe it, only god came to rescue me ….they saw the 2nd year grade sheet with GD grades…I was simply not remembering it and they themselves talked among them and P1 pointed out that he had taken two courses in GD….great relief man
